J. Patrick Sutton began law practice with a prominent Washington, D.C. firm in 1991 following a stint as a federal judicial clerk. A graduate of SMU (magna cum laude), Duke University (M.A.-English) and Duke Law School (JD with high honors), he has also owned and operated a successful design/build firm and was licensed as a general contractor in several states. Patrick’s practice at Sutton Kleinman PLLC is a wide-ranging civil practice that includes both advice and litigation. Patrick is currently involved in studying and writing about health care reform and the new health care reform laws. He is admitted to practice law in Texas, the District of Columbia, North Carolina and Georgia. He and his wife Kathryn have three children, Peter, Daniel, and Luke, and live in central Austin.
